Base Pay: $90,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

The Deputy Project Director position is a professional, senior-level opportunity for the individual seeking to assume a program management position. The position will serve as preparation for the right individual to rapidly step into the role of directly supporting the Project Director to manage national programs within the company. The Deputy Project Director will be required to rapidly develop and demonstrate knowledge of the company’s projects and customers; leadership skills; attention to detail; and time management capabilities. The position is critical to project success and the Deputy Project Director must demonstrate commitment high quality work, responsiveness to customer requirements, professionalism, flexibility, and dependability.

The position is essential to ensuring compliance with customer requirements and ensuring project management activities are completed accurately and on time. Deputy Project Director is required to quickly master and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of assigned company’s projects and customers. To be successful, the Deputy Project Director must demonstrate in-depth customer and project knowledge, teamwork, leadership skills, attention to detail, solid work habits, and customer focus. Specific tasks and duties for the position include the following and other related tasks as assigned.

  • Work with Project Director to develop project management plans, quality assurance plans, and detail work schedules.
  • Maintain schedules of work performed by professional and administrative staff and monitor due dates for all deliverables.
  • Maintain project management schedule of meetings, deliverables, and other project activities and provide periodic status of project activities.
  • Actively learn the customer requirements of assigned projects to become a valuable resource on the project.
  • Provide timely communication of significant project events, such as completion of milestone tasks, late tasks, missing deliverables, or any other event that may affect product quality or customer satisfaction.
  • Exercise sound judgment, maturity and professionalism when dealing with co-workers, customers and partners.
  • Act as a mentor to assist other project staff in completing assignments or overcoming obstacles.
  • Provide oversight and supervision of administrative staff, when needed.
  • Track outstanding issues and follow up on action items as required by Project Director.
  • Complete editing and formatting of project documents to meet company standards, using Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Maintain electronic project files by updating SharePoint and network project folders with project documents and deliverables.
  • Produce project documents by formatting, printing, copying, and binding project deliverables.
  • Learn and become proficient with the use of survey software application(s) to enter and revise deficiencies and other survey outcomes.
  • Become familiar with federal regulations and critical pathways that guide survey work to be able to discuss alternatives with clinical and layperson staff.
  • Maintain project meeting schedules and agendas, and ensure that all participants receive agendas and adequate notification of meeting logistics (e.g., conference room location, conference call numbers, video conference links, etc.)
  • Be aware of, and responsive to the needs of field staff and customers that may occasionally require support outside of normal business hours.

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience working on customer projects within a consulting services organization. Additional 4 years of experience will substitute for a master’s degree.
  • Intermediate to advanced competency in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and PowerPoint).
  • Must have flexibility and capability to respond to the needs of field staff and customers that may occasionally require support outside of normal business hours.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Must demonstrate logic and problem-solving skills.
  • Significant experience in environments where attention to detail is a key requirement.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Must have experience creating, reviewing, editing & formatting documents (e.g., proposals, manuals, presentations, etc.).
  • Must have solid grammar and punctuation skills, including the ability to compose emails and letters that are grammatically correct and properly formatted.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to compile and organize data from records and reports.
  • Demonstrated track record of cooperation, flexibility, and customer service.
