Responsibility

The System Administrator serves as the primary company internal support resource for all computer and telecommunications related systems and including hardware, software, and peripherals. Key technical support includes maintaining backups, software upgrades for the business systems, and assisting users with a variety of technical issues. This position involves monitoring, troubleshooting, ticketing, reporting, and escalation. Essential job functions are:
  • Provide hardware and software user support for computers, printers and IP phones, utilizing both wired and wireless networks so that each device is fully functional.
  • Diagnose hardware, network and software problems, and replace defective components to maintain proper functioning
  • Perform user account administration, directory permission, Active Directory/OU administration.
  • Responsible for testing and implementing effective backups and restores.
  • Maintain software versions and apply periodic updates as necessary.
  • Support internal staff on their regular business activities, including email, I/P phone, laptop and printers.
  • Stay current on any related technologies and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Technical training and certification in relevant area.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years providing IT support, including experience with user account administration, installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals.
  • Excellent communications skills are required, especially in providing telephone support to users.
  • Experience performing periodic system back-ups and developing/documenting standard operating procedures for these activities.
  • Experience working with computer hardware, software, and local area networks.
  • Basic understanding of Domains, related policies, gateways, proxies, bridges, routers, switches, and OSI.
  • Basic understanding of the following protocols: DHCP, TCP, IP, NetBIOS, NetBEUI, DNS, WINS, VPN, WEP, WPA, WPA2, LLDP, VOIP, SSH, SMB.
  • Basic understanding of Cloud technologies like AZURE, AWS, Office365.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
